The prosecutors of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) are conducting searches at the Romanian Road Authority (ARR) on March 31, as part of an investigation into corruption offenses.

The offenses incriminated by the prosecutors include influence peddling, bribery, giving bribes, and forming an organized criminal group.

Cristian Anton, the director of ARR, stated in 2023 that he owns a house in Timiș and has debts of 35,000 euros. Prosecutors suspect that the exams within ARR were rigged, with bribe amounts ranging from 600 to 1500 euros to obtain correct answers. The investigation is also expanding into counties such as Mehedinți and Arad, and searches are being conducted both at institutions and at the homes of individuals. The suspects will be brought to Bucharest for questioning, and prosecutors have discovered sums of money during the checks.
