The DNA prosecutors conducted searches at the home of Mihai Barbu, the president of PNL Vaslui, in a case concerning corruption offenses, including influence peddling and bribery. The investigation is linked to Fănel Bogoș, a businessman in the poultry industry, who attempted to evade sanctions from DSVSA for selling chickens infected with salmonella. Bogoș sought the influence of former SRI officers, a former SIE general, and a former DNA prosecutor to replace the head of DSVSA Vaslui. DNA confirmed that the investigations target several individuals, including members of a political party, and searches were carried out in 23 locations across various counties.
