Romanians will be able to travel, starting from September 4, directly to the People's Republic of China, due to the inauguration of the air route between Beijing and Bucharest, operated by Air China.
The opening ceremony took place at the Romanian Embassy in China and marked an important moment in bilateral relations. The new route, which includes round-trip flights between Beijing (PEK), Bucharest (OTP), and Zagreb (ZAG), will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, facilitating connectivity and cooperation between the two countries. Romania's Ambassador to China, Dan-Horia Maxim, emphasized that the resumption of direct flights will open new opportunities for dialogue and collaboration in areas such as tourism and the economy.
This initiative reiterates the common commitment to promoting bilateral contacts. The TAROM company inaugurated the first Bucharest - Beijing route in 1974, establishing a connection between the two nations.
