On Saturday, August 8, a violent fire broke out in an apartment located on the third floor of a residential building on Șelimbărului Street in Oradea. The call to 112 was received around 11:50 AM, and the 'Crișana' Emergency Situations Inspectorate quickly mobilized three firefighting teams, two fire trucks, and a high-altitude rescue vehicle, as well as SMURD and ambulance teams.

Upon the arrival of the intervention forces, the fire was raging violently, flooding the 3rd and 4th floors with dense smoke. The firefighters managed to extinguish the fire in about 10 minutes and evacuated eight people from the affected apartments. Unfortunately, the owner of the apartment where the fire broke out was found deceased inside. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
