Bear trapped in Poiana Brașov after entering a hotel and causing panic in the resort

The Brașov City Hall announced that a male bear, approximately 10 years old and weighing 400 kilograms, was shot on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday after it caused several problems in Poiana Brașov. This bear had been previously captured, tagged, and microchipped, but returned to the area, becoming a threat to tourists and employees in the resort.

In recent weeks, the number of encounters with bears in Poiana Brașov has increased, being spotted both on the ski slopes and inside hotel premises. A week before the incident, surveillance cameras captured a bear entering a hotel in the resort. Authorities deemed that intervention was necessary for public safety.
