The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, will participate on Thursday in the second meeting of the Eastern Flank Summit (Helsinki Format), hosted by the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, in Gdansk.
The agenda of the meeting will focus on coordinating among EU member states neighboring the Russian Federation, with the aim of implementing the Readiness 2030 Plan and other European instruments to enhance defense capabilities. Nicușor Dan will present Romania's efforts in strengthening defense capabilities, including participation in the SAFE program and Common Interest Projects in the field of European Defense. He will also propose close coordination in negotiations for the future Multiannual Financial Framework of the EU, for the allocation of increased resources in the field of defense. Romania is committed to contributing to the strengthening of the Eastern Flank by developing national defense capabilities and participating in EU and NATO civilian and military missions.
