The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, announced the organization of 'European Week at the Cotroceni Palace', an event that will take place from May 5-9, 2026. The main purpose of this initiative is to stimulate structured debates on topics of national interest in a European context, regarding Romania's place, role, and priorities in the European Union. The event will be attended by specialists, political leaders, Members of the European Parliament, representatives of civil society, non-governmental organizations, the academic environment, business people, representatives of religious denominations, and students. The debates will cover social, political, economic, and educational topics, as well as the impact of artificial intelligence on institutions. The event will conclude on May 9, Europe Day, with the participation of the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola. The Presidential Administration emphasizes that the goal is to identify the best approaches to strengthen Romania's position in the EU.
