President Nicușor Dan will chair a working meeting on Friday, starting at 1:00 p.m., dedicated to the European Union’s Multiannual Financial Framework, ahead of the European Council meeting on October 15–16, 2026. The discussions will take place at Cotroceni Palace and will focus on Romania’s position in negotiations on future European funding.
The meeting will be attended by Deputy Prime Minister and interim Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tánczos Barna, Minister of Finance Alexandru Nazare, Minister of Investments and European Projects Dragoș Pîslaru, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Oana Țoiu.
The Presidential Administration announced that the meeting will also bring together representatives of the central administration and of Romania’s mission to the European Union: Prime Minister’s Chancellery chief Mihai Jurca and Romania’s Permanent Representative to the EU, Iulia Matei.
The Multiannual Financial Framework sets the priorities and level of European funding for member states, including in areas such as agriculture, regional development, and investment. The consultations in Bucharest precede the meeting of European leaders, who will examine the main issues on the Union’s agenda.
