Member of the European Parliament Dan Barna was re-elected on Saturday, with the highest number of votes, to the position of vice-president of ALDE.
In a Facebook post, Barna expressed his gratitude to his liberal colleagues and emphasized his commitment to fighting for liberal values, democracy, and the rule of law in the European Union and its neighborhood.
He also thanked his colleagues from USR for their support, mentioning that the delegation was led by the president of USR, Dominic Fritz, and included several ministers and parliamentarians from the party.
Barna was first elected vice-president of ALDE in May 2023, at a congress held in Stockholm, and ALDE is represented in the European Parliament by the Renew Europe group.
