Dacia, the Romanian-French brand, is exploring the possibility of producing a new electric model in China, called Hipster, which would be only 3 meters long, compared to 4 meters for the Sandero and 3.7 meters for the Spring model. The Hipster concept, presented in the autumn of 2025, aligns with European trends to create small and affordable electric city cars, with an estimated price below 20,000 euros. Dacia intends to launch this simple vehicle by the end of 2027, with a cost below 15,000 euros.
Dacia's CEO, Katrin Adt, mentioned that development could take only a year and a half. Although the official decision has not been made, the CEO of Renault could announce the project on March 10. The car is expected to be manufactured in Hubei province, at the same facility that produces the Spring, and will weigh 800 kg, much lighter than other Dacia models.
