The Dacia Spring was the most registered A-segment car in Germany in August, amid growing demand for electric vehicles and special prices offered by the manufacturer. The performance was recorded in the European Union’s largest automotive market, in the same month in which the model’s first generation was discontinued.

According to data cited by Profit.ro, the Dacia Spring recorded 1,418 registrations in Germany in August, 350% more than in the same month of 2025. The electric model outperformed established cars in the same class, such as the Fiat 500, Renault Twingo and Toyota Aygo.

The result marks a first for the Spring, which has thus become Germany’s best-selling A-segment car, regardless of powertrain type. The increase in sales is attributed both to discounts applied by Dacia and to the German government’s electric vehicle subsidy program.

Launched more than five years ago, the Dacia Spring achieved this result at the end of the first generation’s production cycle. Its performance on the German market highlights the growing interest in affordable electric cars, at a time of transition for the model.
