The Plenary of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) will meet on Thursday to elect the new president and vice president. Candidates must present a managerial project that addresses the management of CSM's competencies and issues related to human resources in the judicial system. CSM is composed of 19 members, including judges and prosecutors elected by magistrates, representatives of civil society, and ex officio members. The term of elected members is six years, without reappointment. The current president is Judge Elena-Raluca Costache, and the vice president is Prosecutor Claudiu-Constantin Sandu. Only elected judges and prosecutors can run for the leadership of CSM, and the election is conducted by the vote of the plenary members.
