Cristina Trăilă has resigned from the position of Deputy Secretary General of the Government, one day after being placed under criminal investigation.

Cristina Trăilă announced on Wednesday that she has resigned from the position of Deputy Secretary General of the Government, also mentioning that she is "totally innocent" of the accusations of complicity in using influence or authority for the purpose of obtaining for oneself or for another money, goods, or other undue benefits.

"I am totally innocent and I have not the slightest doubt that this will be clarified even during the criminal investigation phase. I am also aware that this media scandal is an artificial one, not at all coincidental, and which is undoubtedly speculated to the detriment of the image of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, the Government of Romania, and the PNL," wrote Trăilă on Facebook.

She also posted a photograph of her resignation on Facebook.

Prosecutors from the National Anticorruption Directorate accuse Trăilă of committing the crime of complicity in using influence or authority for the purpose of obtaining for oneself or for another money, goods, or other undue benefits.

"Between November 3-4, 2025, the suspect Trăilă Cristina, in her capacity as Deputy Secretary General of the Government of Romania, allegedly supported the actions of the defendant Barbu Mihai to exert influence over the president of A.N.S.V.S.A., for the purpose of replacing the director of D.S.V.S.A. Vaslui with a person approved by the defendant B.F. The pursued goal would have been to obtain undue benefits for the defendant B.F. and for the company owned by him, consisting, among other things, in the approval of a compensation file worth approximately 3 million euros, as well as in the reduction or cessation of veterinary sanitary controls at the farms of the company," shows the DNA statement.

Fănel Bogos was placed in preventive arrest in 2025, being accused of offering large sums of money to obtain the removal from office of the director of the Veterinary Sanitary and Food Safety Directorate (DSVSA) Vaslui, Mihai Ponea.
