The former priest Cristian Pomohaci was placed in preventive arrest on Thursday by the judges of the Târgu Mureș Court, as he is being investigated in a new case of rape of a minor and sexual assault.

The acts are said to have occurred starting in 2022, and the victims are boys aged up to 16 years.

"This evening, June 4, 2026, the Târgu Mureș Court accepted the proposal made by the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Târgu Mureș Court, ordering the preventive arrest for 30 days of the 57-year-old man, investigated for committing the crimes of rape against a minor and sexual assault," announced the Mureș County Police Inspectorate.
