The audit carried out by the Court of Accounts at the National Forest Regie (RNP) revealed that 3.1 million hectares of forest land are not properly accounted for, being valued at zero lei. It also found irregularities in asset management, lack of correct valuation of assets and non-collection of debts. Forestry authorities did not issue approvals for temporary occupations and undue payments exceeded 216 million lei. The Court recommended urgent corrective measures and referred the irregularities to the prosecution authorities.
