The mayor of Buzău, Constantin Toma, stated that the designation of MEP Eugen Tomac for the formation of the future government represents a good solution, in the absence of other options. Toma believes that the future prime minister should form a technocratic executive, but the best option would be a coalition between PSD, PNL, USR, and UDMR, excluding Sorin Grindeanu. He emphasized that the success of the proposal depends on the governmental team that Tomac will assemble. Toma mentioned that a government with political ministers would not function efficiently, while an executive made up of technocrats would be preferable. President Nicușor Dan has appointed Eugen Tomac for the position of prime minister, and he will request the confidence vote of Parliament within 10 days.
