Senator Valentina Aldea, a member of the POT party, got into a conflict with the wife of a man with whom she has a relationship, in the context where the man and his wife are in the process of divorce. The incident occurred on Thursday evening when the wife discovered the senator's car parked at her husband's apartment and caused a scandal, scratching the vehicle. When the senator and the man came out of the apartment, the wife attacked Aldea with a metal rod, causing her injuries.

The senator called 112 and was taken to INML, where she obtained a medical certificate requiring 2-3 days of care. Both women were interviewed by the police and filed complaints against each other. The wife was detained for 24 hours and will be presented to the court with a proposal for preventive arrest, being investigated for assault and destruction. The police also issued a protection order in her name.
