The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) has expressed condolences to the family of Octav Stroici, the Romanian who died in a hospital in Rome after suffering serious injuries in a work accident. The incident occurred at Torre dei Conti, a medieval fortified tower, where part of the building collapsed during rehabilitation works.

Following the accident, four people were injured, including Octav Stroici and another Romanian, who is currently hospitalized but out of danger. Despite the efforts of the medical teams, Stroici did not survive.

MAE emphasized that the consular team and the Romanian Embassy in Rome were present at the scene, providing support to the family. They also thanked the rescuers for their intense 11-hour work in trying to safely extract Stroici.
