The Ovidiu Port, located on the Danube - Black Sea Canal, is the first port built in Romania after the Revolution, with works starting in November 2022 and completed at the end of last year. The total investment amounted to 87 million lei, coming from European funds. The new port has a capacity of 650,000 tons of goods per year and covers an area of 21,000 m², including three docks and an administrative office. In Constanța County, the Luminița port is also being rehabilitated, with works to be completed by the end of March, at a cost of 126 million lei, due to the necessary utilities. It will have a vertical quay of 480 m and a port platform of 27,000 m².
