The National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) has won a victory in a lawsuit held in the court in Rome against the Italian contractor WeBuild, regarding the delays in the completion of the Bridge at Brăila. CNAIR intends to execute the guarantee deposited by WeBuild, which amounts to 87 million lei, for the recorded delays.

Although WeBuild attempted to block the execution in the Italian courts, CNAIR managed to uphold the favorable decision, previously won at the Bucharest Court of Appeal, where the contractor was ordered to pay penalties of over 80 million lei for delays exceeding 800 days. The decision in Italy is now final and binding.

WeBuild continues to work on other important projects in Romania, including the Sibiu - Pitești Highway and the railway line Caransebeș - Lugoj - Timișoara - Arad, in collaboration with CFR Infrastructure.
