Cristian Pistol, the general director of CNAIR, reacted to the recent statements of the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Transport, Horațiu Cosma, which he considers personal attacks. Cosma made comments regarding the litigation with Pizzarotti for the Sebeş-Turda Highway and Ordinance 475/2026, which anticipates the transfer of five major projects from CNAIR to CNIR.
Pistol highlighted that these attacks occurred before a court decision on May 27, 2026, related to Ordinance 475. He emphasized that CNAIR obtained a significant reduction in damages in the litigation with Pizzarotti and contested the ruling that increased the amount owed.
Additionally, Pistol clarified that CNAIR followed the legal procedures regarding Ordinance 475 and presented figures that contradict Cosma's claims about CNAIR's budget and staffing scheme. In conclusion, Pistol emphasized that CNAIR continues to fulfill its mission of building Romania's road infrastructure, despite conflicts with the Ministry of Transport.
