The Cluj County Council announced an ambitious energy efficiency project for the Cluj Arena Stadium, with an estimated value of 13.5 million euros. The President of CJ Cluj, Alin Tișe, initiated a draft resolution that will be debated in the ordinary meeting on Thursday. The goal is to reduce operational costs by implementing technical solutions, including the installation of photovoltaic panels with a power of 1 MW and switching to LED lighting, which could reduce electricity consumption by at least 40%. The project includes modernizing the electrical installation in various areas of the stadium and improving the heating system. Funding will come from the CJ Cluj budget and European funds, and the funding file will be prepared after the resolution is approved. This project will transform Cluj Arena into a modern and sustainable sports infrastructure, comparable to those in Western Europe.
