The Mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, made a visit to Herăstrău Park and expressed his dissatisfaction with its condition, describing it as a "ridiculous cacophony of urban furniture." In a Facebook post, Ciucu emphasized that the park suffers from inefficient management, mentioning that the paths on the Island of Roses are full of gravel, which causes visitors to avoid them.

The mayor announced the launch of a public debate to assess the park meter by meter and proposed a study to redefine its functions, including the summer theater and the Japanese garden. Ciucu highlighted the need for uniform and quality urban furniture, as well as the return to the Municipality of Bucharest of the "stolen" lands of the park.

He estimated that the process of studies and design will take about two years, adding that during the rest of his term he will focus on order and cleanliness.
