Ciprian Ciucu, the general mayor of the Capital, stated in a press conference that at the Bucharest Transport Company (STB) there is abuse of medical leave, with the aim of obtaining better-paid overtime. This statement comes in the context in which 20 drivers from STB have been accused of diesel theft, and the mayor emphasized that there are also other management issues within the company.

Ciucu asked the STB management to fulfill their responsibilities and announced that he will organize a press conference dedicated to this topic. Prosecutors have placed the 20 drivers under judicial control, prohibiting them from working for 60 days, after they were accused of stealing fuel from the company's buses. The investigation recently began, with searches conducted in Bucharest and neighboring counties, where a significant amount of stolen diesel was discovered.
