Channel 33, a Romanian news television, will close its doors after 9 years of activity, and the National Audiovisual Council (CNA) will withdraw its license, as the owner Alexandru Răducanu did not submit a request for its renewal. Răducanu stated that the current economic context does not support the existence of an independent television, which is why he decided to withdraw from the media.
Channel 33 has been broadcasting since March 16, 2017, but has faced financial problems, and discussions with investors for the takeover of the television have been unsuccessful. Collaboration with Dan Diaconescu also contributed to the financial difficulties, being interrupted after six months due to fines received by his show.
