The General Council of Bucharest Municipality (CGMB) adopted on Thursday a draft resolution that eliminates free parking for hybrid cars, starting from May 1. This decision was made in the context of discussions regarding compliance with the public debate deadline, and the Bucharest Municipality (PMB) specified that draft resolutions can be adopted before the expiration of the established minimum deadline in cases of urgency.

The project was included on the agenda on an urgent basis, remaining actively transparent to receive suggestions, and modifications were allowed until the very last moment. After adoption, the project was removed from transparency.

Thus, from May 1, free parking will be available exclusively for electric vehicles registered in Bucharest until December 31, 2027. This measure aims to encourage the use of electric vehicles to the detriment of hybrid ones.
