Cezar Avramuță, known as the 'Stegarul Dac', will remain in Rahova penitentiary after the court confirmed the legality of his pre-trial detention. His request to be transferred to house arrest was rejected as unfounded. Mr. Avrammuță protested against his detention conditions by climbing a building in the prison. He was incarcerated on May 23, 2025 on several charges, including escape and assault. His wife highlighted the inhumane prison conditions and his gesture as an extreme form of protest.
