Nicușor Dan has notified the Constitutional Court regarding a law that amends Law 489/2006, sanctioning the exercise of religious professions without rights, including rabbi and imam. The law, initiated by Silviu Vexler, extends the offense and allows the State Secretariat for Religious Affairs to define clerical functions. Dan's criticisms target the unconstitutionality of the law's adoption, the vagueness of the terms used, and the fact that it does not include all clerical titles recognized in Romania. He argues that the law violates religious freedom and the right to expression.
