Cătălin Predoiu, first vice president of PNL and Minister of Internal Affairs, declared on Tuesday that he will not accept the position of Prime Minister as a compromise option to replace Ilie Bolojan. Responding to journalists, Predoiu emphasized that all his mandates have been received with the political vote of the party and that he will not act outside a decision from PNL. He also categorically rejected a possible proposal from PSD, stating that it is out of the question to accept a mandate from another party. Predoiu has been interim Prime Minister three times and has held important positions in previous governments. His name has been mentioned in the press as a possible solution for PNL in the event that Bolojan would be replaced at the head of the Government.
