Călin Georgescu, former presidential candidate, and the mercenary Horațiu Potra, together with his son and grandson, will be brought to the Bucharest Court of Appeal to analyze the evidence in the case in which they are accused of actions against the constitutional order. On December 22, 2025, the judge accepted Potra's request to submit a memory stick with video recordings and ordered the summoning of a witness.
The three were placed in preventive detention in November 2025, being accused of attempting to destabilize Romania. Prosecutors claim that Georgescu and Potra planned violent actions to disrupt peaceful demonstrations, endangering national security. Following the searches, weapons and dangerous pyrotechnic materials were found. Their actions were considered a serious threat to the constitutional order and social values.
