The Bușteni - Azuga bypass, with a length of 9.4 km, will provide an alternative to the congestion on the Prahova Valley and is divided into four sections. The works, estimated at 600 million lei, will be carried out by the builders from Coni, with funding from European funds and the state budget. The completion deadline is set for December 2027.
The first section will intersect with DN1, while the second will cross the town of Bușteni. However, following the deforestation of vegetation, possible instability risks have emerged in the area of the embankment adjacent to the Bucharest - Brașov railway. The county authorities have requested a new technical expertise to assess the impact on the railway infrastructure, after the contractor reported these issues in December 2025. Recent checks have confirmed that the location of the viaduct may influence the retaining walls and the foundations of the railway.
