Bucharest City Hall will implement a low-emission zone (LEZ) over the next two years, gradually restricting access to polluting vehicles, especially diesel and older ones. This initiative is in line with a law adopted in 2023, which obliges Romania's major cities to establish such zones. The plan, developed with the support of the EBRD, has an estimated cost of €15 million and will include the classification of vehicles based on emission standards.
