The President of the Capital, Nicușor Dan, and his Polish counterpart, Karol Nawrocki, will co-chair on May 13, at the Cotroceni Palace, the proceedings of the Bucharest 9 (B9) Summit together with representatives of the Nordic countries. The event, organized under the general theme "Delivering More for Transatlantic Security", will bring together the countries on NATO's eastern flank, including Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia.
At the summit, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is also expected to participate, as well as representatives from Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, and Norway. Although the President of the USA, Donald Trump, was invited, he has communicated that he will not be able to attend the event, thanking Romania for its support. Additionally, sources indicate that the same invitation was extended to American Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
