The Capital Gendarmerie imposed 32 administrative fines, totaling 37,900 lei, on supporters of Călin Georgescu who gathered on Tuesday and Wednesday in the area of the Central Detention Center in Bucharest. The fines were issued for violating the provisions of Law No. 60/1991 on the organization and conduct of public assemblies.
The presence of a large number of people near the headquarters prompted the authorities to take measures to maintain order, manage participant flows, and keep the access routes to the institution clear. The gendarmes cordoned off an area on the sidewalk with metal barriers and deployed dialogue teams to communicate with the demonstrators.
The gendarmes also drew up a report notifying the criminal investigation authorities in a case concerning the unauthorized carrying or use of dangerous objects. Traffic police officers were present in the area to facilitate traffic flow and prevent incidents.
The Capital Gendarmerie announced that it would notify the National Authority for the Protection of Children's Rights and Adoption after minors were also present at the demonstrations. The measures were also taken to protect residents in the residential area, and the public-order deployment will be adjusted according to how the situation develops.
