Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan and the interim mayor of Sector 6, Paul Moldovan, visited Lake Morii Island approximately one week before the project’s official inauguration. The island will open to the public from September 18–20, when the Sector 6 City Hall is organizing Sunset Fest, a festival featuring activities for children, sports, water activities and music.
The visit was announced by Paul Moldovan, who described the tour as an evaluation of the project by Ilie Bolojan, the former mayor of Oradea and former president of the Bihor County Council. The interim mayor also mentioned the contribution of Bucharest General Mayor Ciprian Ciucu to the project’s completion.
The development of Lake Morii Island involved a construction project carried out over more than a year. The project was initiated following an international design competition organized by the Order of Architects of Romania.
For Sunset Fest, the local administration is seeking vendors for food and beverages. Applications must be submitted by September 13 at 11:59 p.m., and the selection results will be published on September 14. Appeals may be filed by the end of the same day, the final list will be announced on September 15, and contracts will be signed on September 16.
