The Bistrița Local Council has adopted a resolution regarding the implementation of the iLEU reward system, part of the B-CONNECT project, funded by the European Commission. This system aims to encourage eco-friendly behaviors, such as reducing pollution and increasing civic engagement. Users aged over 14 can accumulate digital iLEU units through positive actions, such as walking or cycling, participating in events, or providing monitoring data. The iLEU unit, equivalent to 1 leu, cannot be converted into cash.

This year, 100,000 iLEU units will be available, which can be used for tickets to shows, access to the swimming pool, or ski slopes. The City Hall intends to expand the system through external partnerships, providing new opportunities for using iLEU units.
