Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan has appointed Bekesi Csaba-Lajos as the president of the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC), with the proposal coming from the PSD. Bekesi, former executive director of the County Agency for Employment in Bihor, takes over from Ionel Obretin, who held the position on an interim basis.
Obretin took over the leadership of ANPC after the dismissal of Cristian Popescu-Piedone, and Sebastian Hotca, his predecessor, was removed after the DNA charged him with abuse of office. Hotca was accused of ordering the temporary transfer of a person from a management position, violating the current legislation.
Bekesi Csaba-Lajos will thus have the responsibility of leading ANPC in a context marked by controversies and changes in the leadership of the institution.
