Băsescu emphasizes the deficiencies of Romania's defense system, after drones illegally entered the airspace without being shot down.

Former president Traian Băsescu criticized the reaction of the Romanian authorities in the face of the incident involving drones that illegally entered national airspace. Băsescu emphasized that it is unacceptable for Romania to tolerate such violations and called for the drones to be shot down as soon as they enter Romanian airspace, to demonstrate the response capability of the defense system. The incident occurred on November 25, when radars detected a drone that penetrated from Ukraine into Tulcea County, and later fell in Vaslui County, without carrying explosive payload. The authorities issued Ro-Alert messages to inform the population about the situation.
