The Capital City Hall has signed an agreement with the builder for the official takeover of the Basarab Overpass, allowing legal maintenance interventions.

The Basarab Overpass will be officially taken over by the City Hall, according to the announcement of interim mayor Stelian Bujduveanu. This will allow legal interventions for maintenance, cleaning and repairs. The planned works include the resurfacing of the concrete, the replacement of the retaining apparatus and the modernization of the drainage system. The overpass was opened in 2011, but the final acceptance has not been realized due to incomplete works. The project started in 2006, plagued by delays and expropriation problems.
