AUR decides to support Anca Alexandrescu for the Capital City Mayor's Office

On Monday, AUR leaders met to discuss the candidate they will support in the elections for the Capital City Mayor. The meeting was tense, with many members expressing their dissatisfaction with George Simion, who announced support for Anca Alexandrescu without consulting his colleagues. Some voices within the party, supporting Călin Georgescu's position, proposed boycotting the elections, considering them organized by an illegitimate government.

Despite these tensions, AUR decided to support Alexandrescu, arguing that she is the highest-ranked candidate from the sovereignist area. Simion emphasized the responsibility towards the sovereignist movement and criticized Nicușor Dan's presence at political events, deeming it immoral. Călin Georgescu refused to support any candidate, calling the election a "sham." In polls, the favorites for the Capital City Mayor are Daniel Băluță (PSD) and Ciprian Ciucu (PNL).
