ANPC commissioners have carried out checks on 687 economic agents across the country, uncovering serious irregularities in the sale of mineral and spring water. A total of 395 penalties totaling 1.9 million lei were imposed for storing bottles in the sun, selling expired water and not providing correct information on labels. Some 100,000 liters of water were found to be non-compliant and 65,000 liters were stopped from sale. The checks focused on compliance with legal rules on product labeling and presentation, revealing serious shortcomings affecting consumer safety.
