During the period of October 13 – 17, the commissioners of the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) conducted inspections at over 2,000 economic operators across the country, resulting in 1,361 contraventional fines totaling approximately 6.14 million lei.
Among the irregularities found were coffee machines not connected to the drinking water supply, expired detergents, food products past their expiration date, as well as the use of worn-out, unsafe equipment. Additionally, the ANPC temporarily halted the provision of services for 28 operators until the deficiencies were remedied. Other identified issues include the lack of proper labeling of products, non-compliance with storage conditions, and insufficient consumer information.
