Recent inspections have led to the identification of repeated irregularities in restaurants, resulting in 788 fines totaling approximately 4 million lei, and 567 warnings, according to a statement from ANPC.
Inspectors checked goods worth 2.4 million lei and removed food items worth over 127,000 lei from sale. The activity of 22 restaurants was suspended until deficiencies are remedied. Among the violations found are expired food, moldy fish, and improper storage of products, posing a contamination risk. Inspectors noted that some equipment was outdated and dirty, and the storage conditions for perishable products were not respected.
Additionally, pools and recreational areas were not properly maintained, and beverages were improperly stored. Inspectors also found damaged vegetables and used cooking oil, highlighting the need for strict measures to ensure food safety.
