Almost 8 kilograms of drugs seized following the searches in Galați

Following some police searches conducted in Galați, approximately eight kilograms of high-risk drugs were seized, and four individuals were detained. According to the Romanian General Police Inspectorate, a 35-year-old man is suspected of having possessed and sold drugs between December 2025 and April 2026, procuring banned substances from another 39-year-old man.

Three of the suspects were caught in the act while selling drugs. Following the searches, 78 vacuum-sealed bags containing crystallized substances were discovered, and a woman under investigation attempted to hide the evidence. DIICOT Vrancea prosecutors decided to detain four individuals and place the woman under judicial control, intending to propose preventive arrest.

The operation was coordinated by police from Vrancea, Brăila, and Galați, with the support of gendarmes.
