The President of the Intelligent Energy Association (AIE), Dumitru Chisăliță, suggests that the state could control inflation by capping fuel prices and adjusting taxes: "We need to intervene now, not in the summer."

The President of the Intelligent Energy Association (AIE), Dumitru Chisăliță, stated that the state could limit inflation by controlling fuel prices, including by adjusting taxes and excise duties. AIE proposed an intervention plan to cap prices, highlighting the direct link between the rise in fuel prices and the increase in food prices. Chisăliță explained that, considering Romania's dependence on imported products, the increase in external costs will affect the local economy. He also mentioned that the AIE plan will not solve all problems, but it could reduce pressure on the population. In the context of the liberalization of the gas market, Chisăliță emphasized that non-household consumers will be exposed to volatile prices, while household consumers may benefit from slightly lower rates. However, there are risks that prices may rise again in the future.
