Property owners in Brașov have signed an agreement for the rehabilitation of the historic facades in Brașov.

Property owners with facades facing the street in Brașov have signed a principle agreement to participate in the multiannual facade rehabilitation program initiated by the municipality. Mayor George Scripcaru organized a meeting with the residents, where the stages of the project and the conditions for participation were presented.

Signing the agreement is an essential step for starting the administrative and technical procedures. The mayor emphasized the importance of rapid intervention to prevent further degradation of historical buildings. The owners mentioned that they have incurred constant costs for repairs, without sustainable solutions, considering the program an opportunity to address structural issues. The first stage will focus on the facades on Sforii Street, respecting the heritage protection requirements. Technical assessments have identified water infiltrations as a major problem, caused by incompatible materials used previously.

The municipality will implement additional protection measures, including video surveillance cameras and a fixed monitoring point by the Local Police.
