A new section of 12.24 kilometers of the Transylvania Highway, Zimbor - Poarta Sălajului, will open to traffic on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, at 4:00 PM, Lot 3B2 Zimbor - Poarta Sălajului, a new section of 12.24 kilometers of the Transylvania Highway A3, was opened to traffic, according to the announcement by Irinel Ionel Scrioșteanu, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Transport.

This lot is the first to be completed in 2026 and ensures the continuity of the highway between the Zimbor and Românași road nodes. The section includes significant works, such as five viaducts and a bridge, and crosses the localities of Zimbor, Sânmihaiu Almașului, and Românași, in Sălaj County.

The traffic will be diverted through the Românași road node, facilitating access to DN1F and DJ108A. The project is co-financed from non-reimbursable European funds, part of the Transport Program 2021-2027, and continues the efforts to connect high-speed road infrastructure in the area.
