Between July 17 and July 20, 2025, the "72 Dus-Întors" endurance swimming event will take place on the Siderurgic Canal in Călărași, a charity endurance swimming event. For 72 hours, Martin Strel, the legendary "Big River Man", and Romanian athlete Mihai Badea will swim alongside 72 participants, covering the same kilometer round trip, non-stop.
The event supports fundraising for the Casa dintre Brazi, a rehabilitation and holiday center for children with severe disabilities, initiated by the Children in Difficulty Foundation.
In this way, every arm moved in the water will make a contribution to hope, with the intention of giving these children a safe place and a chance to enjoy themselves in the middle of nature.
The event is held under the High Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maria of Romania. Donations can be made by SMS to 8844 with the text ZILE (2 euro) or online at https://casadintrebrazicid.com.ro/product/doneaza/.
