Sixty Romanian students from Satu Mare were the victims of a robbery on Saturday evening in Nice, France, after their bus was left unattended in an abandoned area. The thieves forced the vehicle's door, taking advantage of the drivers' absence, and stole all the backpacks and hand luggage, including identity documents, phones, and money.
The incident occurred a day before the group was to reach their final destination, the Taizé community. The parents of the students are now demanding accountability from the transport company, emphasizing that the drivers had asked the children to leave their belongings in the cabin.
After discovering the theft, the children and teachers went to the police to file a complaint and complete the necessary paperwork. The French police are investigating the case and searching for suspects, but the value of the damages has not yet been estimated. The transport company has not yet provided an official response to these allegations.
