A 33-year-old Romanian man was placed under judicial supervision in France after allegedly threatening to behead a teacher at Maurice Ravel School in Talence, in the Gironde department. The incident took place on Monday, October 5, on the school premises, and the case was referred to the Bordeaux Public Prosecutor’s Office the same day.
According to sources cited by France Info, the man initially spoke with the school’s principal, after which he allegedly made the threat against the teacher, who was not present. The Bordeaux education authority notified the authorities and announced that the teacher would receive functional protection.
The suspect was detained the following day and denied the allegations during questioning. On October 7, prosecutors ordered that he stand trial. Until the trial scheduled for March 18, 2027, he must undergo medical treatment and is prohibited from contacting the victim, approaching the school, or going to the homes of victims and witnesses.
The case is the third similar incident in Gironde since the start of the school year. Two other parents have already been convicted of making threats and committing acts of violence against education staff.
